Here's the quick version:
Christine Weiser is a professional writer and editor, and co-publisher of the literary magazine Philadelphia Stories (founded in 2004). She is co-author of Ask Mr. Technology, Get Answers (Linworth 2007), and is managing editor for Tech & Learning magazine. She was the bass player for Philly girl band Mae Pang, and her current band, The Tights, can be heard in clubs in and around the Philadelphia area. Broad Street is her first novel.

Like many writers, I've had a lifelong passion for writing that teeters on masochistic.
Like many writers, I've had a lifelong passion for writing that teeters on masochistic. As soon as my wee crayon hit paper, that strange chemical in my brain said: "I like this." Scribbles became bad adolescent poetry. Bad poetry became bad thinly veiled fiction. Bad fiction became better fiction. Each new scribble tickled that same chemical, driving me to keep tapping on the keyboard, take notes on cocktail napkins, record the unsuspecting world around me.
Thankfully, I've found a way to make a living doing this thing I love to do. After graduating with a degree in communication from Muhlenberg College, I landed a job as a magazine editor and am now the managing editor of Tech & Learning magazine. I'm also very proud to be co-creator (with fiction editor Carla Spataro) of Philadelphia Stories literary magazine, described by the Philadelphia Inquirer as a "classy publication." Through my work with Philadelphia Stories, I lecture regularly on the art of fiction for universities such as The University of Pennsylvania, Rowan University, St. Joseph's University, Community College of Philadelphia, and dozens of other writer's organizations.
My new novel follows the fictive all-girl Philadelphia rock-group, Broad Street, through the highs and lows of struggling for success in the male-dominated Philadelphia rock scene. For this novel, I culled more than a few stories from my experience as the bass player for Philadelphia girl band, Mae Pang, and still play with my good buds John & Lynette in The Tights.
